Abstract

This study investigates the design and impact analysis of a gun bullet interacting with glass and a vest. The analysis is conducted in two cases and examining the unique responses of each material under impact.

Case 1: Design and impact analysis of gun bullet on bulletproof glass

Designing and Explicit dynamic analysis of gun bullet on glass, focuses on glass materials, testing two different types of glass E-glass (electrical glass) and S-glass (structural glass) to evaluate their deformation behaviour and stress response under impact from a gun bullet. The primary objective is to identify the most suitable glass material in terms of resistance to bullet penetration, durability, and ability to absorb stress.

In Case 2: Design and impact analysis of gun bullet on bulletproof vest

Designing and Explicit dynamic analysis of gun bullet on vest the analysis shifts to the vest materials, where AL203 CERA Fiber and AL203-99.7 Fiber are tested for their performance when subjected to high-impact stress from a bullet. The goal is to determine the optimal material for body Armor, balancing factors such as strength, elasticity, and energy absorption. Deformation characteristics and stress distribution in both glass and vest materials are evaluated using computational simulations and material testing. Based on the results, the study suggests the most appropriate materials for each case, providing insights into the selection of glass and vest materials for effective protection against ballistic threats. Both design and analysis done on Ansys 2025 R1 software
