A multicomponent, room temperature reaction between substituted isothiocyantes, amines and α-bromocarbonyl compound was carried out in dimethyl sulfoxide in the presence of the Triton-B to synthesize a library of 2-amino thizole. This process was found to be suitable for the synthesis of variety of 2-amino thiazoles using aliphatic and aromatic amines.
