Design of Electric Tiller Machine for Farming Applications
Abstract
The agricultural sector's shift toward sustainability demands eco-friendly alternatives to replace conventional fossil fuel-dependent machinery. Tiller machines are essential tools in agriculture and gardening, designed to cultivate and prepare soil for planting. Tillers aerate the soil, allowing for better water and nutrient absorption. They effectively remove weeds and prevent them from returning. The conventional tillers are powered by petrol or diesel and hence contributes for greenhouse emission as well as noise pollution. This paper outlines the design and development of an electric tiller machine tailored for farming applications, targeting the environmental and operational limitations of traditional tillers. The electric tiller integrates a high-efficiency electric motor and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, eliminating direct greenhouse gas emissions and minimizing noise pollution. Results affirm the electric tiller as a sustainable, cost-effective solution for modern agriculture, aligning with global sustainability goals by lowering carbon footprints and promoting renewable energy adoption. This advancement holds particular promise for small to medium-scale farming, offering a practical pathway toward energy-efficient and environmentally responsible agricultural practices.
