Pradeep Chintale, Anirudh Khanna, Gopi Desaboyina, Rajesh Kumar Malviya

Abstract :

Decision based systems have a great promise of working with critical infrastructure in the modern world. Critical infrastructure is the backbone of an economy, since they encompass energy, banking, financial and transportation sectors. These sectors demand a great regard of security to safeguard from external manipulation and disruptions. Disrupting the critical infrastructure leads to economic instability and less confidence, while safeguarding them leading to higher confidence and higher economic returns. Working with decision support systems leads to real time monitoring, predictive maintenance, early threat detection and risk assessment. Each of these aspects help to set up distinctive impacts in handling and addressing the demands of creating functional entities. This article indicates that while decision-based systems help the use of the critical infrastructure, they have the need to factor in IoT integration and AI advancements in key ways that advance value to the systems. Considerably, using these approaches ensure a better step in addressing progressive management of security in critical infrastructure systems.
