Abstract :

In today's competitive scenario, many changes have been made regarding the design of heat exchangers and their more usefulness. In this radical change, the fin design on the air side and the use of different coolants on the coolant side are important. Keeping this in mind, the present study looks at the importance of using nanofluid with the use of special fin geometry. The usefulness of nanofluids is well known, but the behavior of nanofluids is dependent on many factors. For this, some important findings were collected in the present study by changing the nanofluid in some identified test conditions. Theoretical comparative calculations have been done after experimental result validation in the study. The present study reveals factual results between water and water-70% ethylene glycol-30% based TiO2, Al2O3, CuO and Cu nano fluids. This study is helpful for all those future studies trying to understand the behavior of different base fluids in heat exchanger. The results revealed that by using Al2O3 based nanofluid good heat transfer performance of ~19% is achived. But it is necessary to pay special attention to the pressure drop and pumping power also Which is highest for this nanofluid.
